Music on the Go is as Revolutionary as Musicians of Long Ago

Heroes by David Bowie. Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds. Whole Lotta Love by Led Zepplin. Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley. Respect by Aretha Franklin. Bohemiam Rhapsody by Queen. This is a very short list of songs that have come to define Western music over the last half-century or so. Each artist had an influence on culture and can be considered revolutionaries of their time and age for the messages their songs sent to their audience. There is meaning and passion behind these great works of art. They were not all about money - though some are about money - they were about helping foster a community of people to become better citizens, to become more liberal and open-minded towards change, and to create a new path for people to consider; this is why they are considered revolutionaries of their time and age - they were renegades.

Now, more than ever, people are attracted to music with a message and enjoy it while they are on the move. This is the new iRevolution that is occurring in the music industry - it has advanced from eight track tape to the cassette, and it then went to CD, but it seems to be reaching its evolutionary form inhabiting iPods, iPhone, iPads, and any other storage device that allows music to be listened to during the daily rigors of life. This market is being dominated by the slick and shiny Apple company and their unique yet simple looking everything device the iPod. Music that was once revolutionary is the approach that iPods have done as well; they are the revolutionary device that all other companies try to compete with, but there can only be one original. The music on the move devices that are flooding the market do more than just allow for listening to music, thought the majority of those devices are still considered music-first products that attract customers to take their music on the go.

The music market will never be the same; iPods are here to stay and they are here for the long run. Music that can be taken on the move will become revolutionary like many of the bands listed in the first paragraph. The revolution to find the next music on the move product is already in development, though it may not be heard of for years to come. Just remember if you are looking for music on the move to find the proper device that fits your lifestyle.

Though iPods are here to stay, throughout human civilization expanding on an item and creating new items (remember going from CD players to MP3 players to iPods?) to create new revolutions in the music industry are bound to happen. This is a simple fact of innovation and creation – new species will come about and they will connect with people. It sounds like I am talking about people, but when I write in this manner it is to explain that some people view their own iPods as part of their constituent of parts – it might be their supposed-soul. When the next wave of music listening devices come out you should give them a try because they may be the next wave of the future.
